Young and old alike enjoy activities such as canoeing, fishing,
swimming, birding, tennis, lodge socials, walking the island's trails,
casual family-style meals and evening campfires with marshmallow
roasts.
Some come to visit Keewaydin.
Families with sons at Keewaydin
or daughters at Songadeewin,
the canoe-trip camps at the south end of the island, can spend time
with their children between trips. Families are welcome at Keewaydin
and Songadeewin events.

Swimming in Lake Temagami
|
Some just like to be out on the water.
We will be glad to lease you a fine wood canvas canoe or a boat
and motor. Slip silently from one world to another as each unfolds
beyond a new point of land. Savor the taste of a family picnic,
made by our kitchen or enjoy a lunch cooked over the fire, Keewaydin
style. Fish Lake Temagami or other lakes nearby, where you can catch
walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike and lake trout.

Canoe Trip out of Ojibway
|
Some come to
leave again.
The Temagami Country offers some of the finest canoe tripping in
the world. We outfit families and groups with canoes, tents, food
everything you need for what may be the most memorable camping
of your life. Just bring your sleeping bag and personal gear ...
we'll provide the rest.
And some come to just sit...
... on a porch, in a deck chair or on a sunny rock by the lake.
Lie out under the stars and let the aurora borealis dance across
the sky over head. There are wildflowers to be seen, trees to be
identified and countless birds to be watched, including a large
population of nesting warblers. It's amazing how busy you can be
... doing absolutely nothing at all.
Note: There is no designated swimming
area, and lifeguard services are not provided. Children must have
parental supervision and no one should ever swim alone. Canoes and
motorboats are available for rent. Personal canoe trip outfitting
is available.
